It is still raining… Sigh

Seriously, what does a girl have to do to get into her garden?

But all is not lost, on the soggy days (all of them) I had loads of fun with the WordPress U Branding and Traffic course.  I learnt so much cool stuff, but the thing is I have been so busy in breaks in the weather in the garden I have just written an extraordinary amount of “must do” lists which are infinitely more important than ‘to do’ lists.  So over the next wee while you make see a bit of tweaking and changing, and I may even throw caution to the wind and make a dramatic change as I implement what I learnt.  Please feel free to let me know what you think – especially if I’m made something look hideous because we can’t have that, but it could happen – I’m a gardener not a graphic designer!

What is also quite cool is I have decided to bring my website over here too.  Currently it is like that expensive country house that looks amazing but we don’t go there often because it is off the beaten track, so it gets a little neglected – lets say there is dust building up on my mantle pieces.  But with all house moving tasks, the packing up and lugging to the new location is a bit arduous so bear with me through these renovations.  It may get a bit messy.

These need to move too a new home too!

Now the first structural change I have made is I created a new page for photos.  This is because I take way too many – you should see all the cool ones I haven’t had room to share!  But also because I loved my last course so much I signed up for another one – Photography 101.  This one goes for a month and I need somewhere to put all my homework, but I will try and stay on track, and take my photos in my garden (if they let me) so check it out and watch my garden grow.

I can’t recommend these classes enough – they have all the best points of study and none of the worst, you learn things you are actually interested in, and the good people at WordPress have made them free for bloggers.  There are no exams!  You don’t have to do the assignment if you don’t want too and you don’t even need to hand it in!  And if you drop out – that’s ok too – but why would you want to?

But for now have a look at what is really going on in my garden…

Come again soon – there will be a new photo every day for the next wee while – but I there are always thoughts in my head so I will still be posting these as usual – I may just have to move a few boxes first.

  1. Wow! These courses sound fantastic. How wonderful for you Sarah. And thank you so much for sharing. I’m flat out like a lizard drinking, so I’ll watch that video later. 🙂 Wish the weather would settle and behave itself! Love those photos too Miss

    1. Hi Julie. I’m a sucker for punishment. I am so flat out too. Another 6 hours in each day for a couple of weeks that are guaranteed to be sunny and I may even get close to being on top of everything. Thanks for your nice words.
      Cheers Sarah : o )

    1. Hi Julie. Umm…. I’m ashamed to say I just used my phone. I tap on the screen where I want it to focus and it does it all. I feel like I’m cheating – especially when I have a nice camera sitting there that I hope to understand a lot better,
      Cheers Sarah : o )

  2. You are like me Ms Sarah, you time your garden exploits in between “wee’s” (no I am not mad, you made a hilarious spelling error early in your post 😉 ). So many people are moving and changing their blogs. I fully intend to stay with mine till my space runs out. I am a lazy blogger ;). We have been hurling ourselves into the garden and Sanctuary is starting to look completely full of possibilities. Most of those possibilities are in serious need of completion but one step at a time and “slowly, slowly catchy monkey” and all of that and one day we will arrive someplace in the ballpark of where we want to be. It might not be anything like we envisage it, but it will at least be in the ballpark and when you are a gardener trying to wrangle and work with nature, what better outcome can you hope for? 😉

    1. Hi Fran, the wees was intentional. I have to hold myself back from using it liberally when describing anything small or cute.
What better thing to do when you can’t get in the garden because of the rain than tutu (kiwi for fiddle) with my blog.
      I’m a better gardener than a designer!
      Cheers S : o )

      1. I think you meant to spell “week” at the beginning of the post. I saw the “wee” at the end. My grandad had Scottish parents and said “wee” for small a lot 🙂

  3. Sarah I like the new look, especially the colors and the nice, clean lines. I’m happy to hear your review on the WP classes. I’ve considered them myself but just haven’t carved out the time. As our winter approaches, this could be it.

    1. Continuing since my keyboard locked and refused to allow me any more keystrokes, I wanted to add best of luck with all the technology stuff. I did the same thing with my organizing blog, combining both my website and my blog in one place.

      1. Hi Alys. I’m so glad you like the new look. I still have a lot to do. It is like driving a new car – you know how to drive without thinking but in the new car you end up going back to basics and have to figure out where the button that washes the window is.
I think having it all in one place will be great, because I don’t go to my website often enough, and yet others go there everyday. I must get onto it as soon as possible – I just have to find some time!
        Cheers Sarah : o )

    2. HI Alys. The classes are really cool. You should definitely try them. I’m really impressed with them and the team that run them are awesome.
Oh – one other thing you may be interested in – I’m coming over to your fine country in Feb to attend a garden bloggers conference. It sounds amazing. http://garden-bloggers-conference.com/. I’m super excited!
      Cheers Sarah : o )

      1. That is awesome. I didn’t even know such a thing was out there. I took a wee peak at your link last week but on my phone. I’ll go give it a better look now that I’m at my computer. Thanks, Sarah.
