Sometimes cute in the garden is ok!

I confess.  I didn’t do any gardening.  It was cold and yucky and I didn’t feel all that great.  But I can still share with you a really cute but short story that occurred in my garden the day before.

Well as I was weeding my pea bed, Toast the cat came over to say hi.  She is never far away when I am in the garden and normally comes along, checks out what I’m doing and then finds a nice comfy spot to sit and watch until she falls asleep.

So there I was, pulling weeds out of the cold damp soil and Toast wanders over…

“Hello… Whatcha doing?”
“Hello… Whatcha doing?”

She inspects my progress

“Oh and so the weeds go in here?”
“Oh and so the weeds go in here?”

Until the scent of something interesting grabs her attention and she wanders off.

“Could it be?
“Could it be?
“Yes it is!”
“Yes it is!”
“Oh my goodness – YEESSS IT IS!”
“Oh my goodness – YEESSS IT IS!”
“I love this stuff.”
“I love this stuff.”
“This is the best thing ever!”
“This is the best thing ever!”
“AHHH catnip!”
“AHHH catnip!”

And then she went off for a wee lie down in the sun on the deck.  It’s a hard life being a cat!

Come again soon – real gardening action will resume soon.

  1. We had to cut our catnip bush down yesterday as it had got out of control and was taking over the border. Our three cats took it in turns to lie underneath and we used to joke about how they were guarding their drug “stash”. When they all woke up yesterday and came outside to find their “stash” had been reduced to a stump we told them there had been a drugs bust.

  2. That is so cute. I have had several attempts at growing catnip for our three, but the plants just don’t stand a chance at getting established. Within a week they have been destroyed with all the blissful shmushing 🙁
