Things I want to achieve in October 2025
September was a big month, I’ve worked really hard in the garden, focusing on long overdue tasks that had been left on the list too long because they were big or complicated. Most of these tasks will help in the long run towards making the garden low maintenance. For all the success I’ve crossing things off the list, I’m still not done. There are a handful of projects that I’d optimistically like to have completed by the end of October. Going forward the season should be a lot easier.
The ‘going early’ feels weird. I’m about three weeks earlier than normal and so far so good. I have spares waiting in the wings so there is no harm in planting things early. I’m putting trust in the weather, which is a brave thing to do.
I took a clipboard into the garden to make a note of everything that needs doing in the garden and added them to the to do list alongside the maintenance projects, the things I didn’t get to last month and the dreamy projects that will linger on the list for months, if not years!

There have been some pretty major things crossed off the list, so it is starting to look pretty good in the garden but some nice weather would be more than welcome. : o)
Looks great in this space!!! It must be close to move out date for most of these plants you have pictured here. Can’t wait to follow your adventure here. I hope to get a dome greenhouse update up on my blog this weekend. I brought home a few new plants that are featured on the site. Stop by sometime ‘dome sister’. ((hugs)) Bren
I’m attempting to ‘go early’ this season, but the weather isn’t co-operating and we’ve had a few minor storms. I have spares so I’m not too worried at this point. The weather has to improve soon enough… Hugs to you too… : o) xxx
To do lists can be quite satisfying – but also a bit daunting!
The super satisfying thing with a to do list is crossing something off that has been there for too long! : o)
