Fraught with Frustration

There is something to be said for being in the garden every day and just doing little and often.Β  Over the heat of the summer the garden didn’t really need a lot and aside from constant watering and regular harvesting, it wasn’t much of a commitment at all, really – especially as the heat often drove me out of the garden before I had fully … Continue reading Fraught with Frustration

Why we don’t call β€˜autumn’ β€˜fall’.

Because it could easily be mistaken for an instruction.Β  Β And taking a fall in the garden is less than ideal, as I have just experienced! Cycle one

I spent the weekend with a nagging feeling in the back of my mind…. β€˜I need to sort out this crop rotation cover crop thing.Β  Once it is done, I’ll never have to think of it again.’  But there were other exciting things to occupy my time, so I pushed the reoccurring thought away.Β  But with the start of a new week and a decidedly … Continue reading Cycle one

Wrapping my head around the cool season

Ok so I’ve done some thinking…. About how I will tackle the next season.Β  But I’d like to say that this is as convoluted as getting my head around crop rotation in the first place!Β  Once I realised this, I decided I’d do it once and do it right, and then each autumn I can come back here as all the thinking necessary will have … Continue reading Wrapping my head around the cool season
