Lambs are a huge distraction

We’re doing feeds four times a day that take absolutely ages.  The kid’s lambs suck up the milk in no time, but the older two are still learning how to use a bottle as it isn’t how they started out and it takes forever.  I’m trying not to dwell too much on their start or get attached.  I think the key is don’t look them in the eye.

Then the weather has rained and rained and rained and we got 25.8mm in one day.  The ground is really soggy and is making that sucky noise it makes as the water table returns to a more sensible level.  The up side is the water table is no longer above the surface of the lawn.

Strangely Hubby the Un-Gardener didn’t want to help me disassemble the greenhouse with his power tools in the rain.   I mean where is his commitment! But we did do some work inside the house and painted the Joeyosarus’s bedroom – which now looks lovely but is far from finished.

An article in the news caught my eye.  They have proclaimed this winter to be the warmest since records began 1860.  The average temperature has been 9.5°C where it should normally have been 8.3°C.  I must be a big sook because I still think it was cold.  Spring is supposed to be warmer than normal too but they have also warned not to get too complacent as there are still opportunities for proper cold snaps and frosts in the spring.

But I really need to push on – as much as it has attempted to fall down all by itself in the past, our bodgy repairs to hold it together are going to make disassembling the greenhouse a little tricky.
