The brief: Capture a snapshot that conveys the state of being alone.

So lets not kid ourselves – we all know this is staged. I don’t have time to sit and read at the moment. But maybe this is an image for my dream board. One day I would love sit here in my orchard and watch the trees, with my feet up reading a book, but I need to do something about that long grass first!
Cheers Sarah : o )
Than does look like a nice spot to sit and read, know what you mean about the time haven’t opened my book in over a week
Hi Neil. I wish I could find the time to sit and read, but having said that I’m the kind of person who finds a good book and can’t put it down until it’s done – so it’s best I save my favourite stories for holidays and when I don’t have deadlines, and then that seat has my name all over it!
Cheers Sarah : o )
Beautiful. I love to read! This would be so perfect! So jealous! 🙂
Hi there. We are so blessed to live in such a lovely place. We have created little nooks all about the place to make the most of the sun and shade at different times of the day and so we are spoilt for choice.
Cheers Sarah : o )
I love your choice for the theme, and I wouldn’t mind sitting all alone on that bench right at this minute; it looks so peaceful!
Hi Barb. I think before I could truly relax, I’d have to cut the grass. Just in front of the photo – what you would see from the bench is my orchard and in the height of summer sitting there watching the shade of the dappled leaves would be so relaxing. OK – now I’ve talked myself into it – I need to tackle the grass. Cheers Sarah : o )
Aah !!! that is perfect !
Thanks Andy.

“Solitude” conjours up “lonliness” to me. Funny I never equated it with being alone and enjoying it! Cheers for the new slant on a book, a bench and enough time to read the first chapter 😉
Hi Fran. I love the thought of five minutes by myself away from the noise of family life – don’t get me wrong I love them to bits, but it can get noisy, and then staring at the endless washing pile and other things a busy household needs, a moment to switch off would be lovely. Cheers Sarah : o )
I get plenty of time like that but it curiously fills up with all sorts of things demanding my time! What I think is going to be a few hours casually draped over a sofa reading turns out to be about 5 minutes total with having to get up and amuse dogs, answer Steve’s calls of “where is…?” and generally find/do/etc. all kinds of things for our motley little crew. I guess that glorious “time to myself” is “unlikely” bordering on “forgedaboudit!” 😉
