Stop I say… I can’t take anymore

Now I know I promised not to moan about the weather again after our particularly soggy summer.  But it would seem autumn isn’t playing fair either.

Yay for raised beds?!

In the 10 years we have been here, we’ve never seen it like this.  And just to add more drama there is more heavy rain expected today and then a repeat again next week.

Flooding
Poor wee Fennel the Cat doesn’t quite know what to make of it all

Hopefully the boffins have it wrong and this is the worst of it.  I won’t go on with all the moaning, I’ll just leave you with a few images. (click on the photos for a description).

Come again soon – I guess I’ll be indoor gardening for a while.

    1. I have family there and have been watching it closely. My Dad was evacuated so they spent most of the night moving stuff. Hopefully it isn’t as bad as they say. Stay safe and dry. : o)

  1. Ugh, I feel you. This was our yard last spring. Plus another 3′ of water over the garden. Yes. Major flooding. Ah, seasons in the garden. Hope you dry out soon!

    1. Thanks for your support. At the end of the day it is only water and we are between seasons so there isn’t a lot to lose. Maybe even some of my hibernating pests might have been drowned. I do feel for my earthworms though. : o)

    1. Wow only 200mm a year! Gosh, I can’t even imagine what that would be like. We did get all of Aprils rain in one day so hopefully there will be no more. Having said that there is another cyclone that is supposed to drop its dregs over us for Easter. So I’m not looking forward to that! : o)

  2. That is extraordinary. I’ve been following Kate’s saga in Queensland. She’s been cleaning mud and water from the first floor of her home. I can’t imagine the mess and the stress. My heart goes out to you.

    1. It has been an extraordinarily wet growing season. I am hoping it is a one off and not a sign of things to come. The garden is drying out and I should be able to spend this weekend sorting it out. : o)
