Things I want to achieve in August 24
This list is a little late and the month has been cut short, however with the work I did before I took a much-needed break and my new desire to fill the garden with joy not stress, the list isn’t that bad. There is still plenty of time until I’m planting warm season crops so for the most part, what remains of this month is weeding and preparing as well as general maintenance and keeping on top of what has already been done so when the time comes I’ll be ready. As always there are the wish list things that it would be nice to get done if I find the time. More often than not they are just on the list so I don’t forget I want to do them and others are a reminder for me to chip away at them with a little and often approach.

That’s a long list!
Yeah… but I’m not expecting to do it all. Most of it just rolls over from month to month and gets done eventually and the rest is just a giant wish list of things I’d love to get done but don’t want to forget that I want to do them. : o)
You just got back?! That is . . . . quite a bit. You know, late winter might be the busiest season for us, so I get it. People in harsher climates do not get it. They do more before and after winter, but do not go out when the garden is less active. In mild climates, there is more of a rush to finish all the tasks that must be done during dormancy, because dormancy runs out sooner.
There never seems to be a good time to go away when the garden grows all year round. But winter is a better time than any, especially as spring is slow to start so there is no real hurry there. : o)
Actually, I happen to leave at the end of winter. I try to get to Washington in time to prune apple trees there while they are still dormant. It works out because winter ends a bit earlier here. I can leave as soon as pruning is done here, and get there before it is too late for pruning.
