I let the weather get the better of me.

While I started off the day, busy as a beaver, doing chores inside, the general yuckiness outside descended like a gloomy gloom.  And I’m just being a sook because the boffins are causing fear and panic down south saying an Antarctic snow storm, the likes that haven’t been seen for twenty odd years, is about to descend on the southern part of the country with a knock on effect further north.

It wasn’t here while I was moaning and bleating about how terrible the weather was and it was actually a balmy 16°C and I had the fire on inside so it was more like 20°C.  It was raining though and that made being outside unpleasant.  It certainly wasn’t gardening weather but I couldn’t let the day pass without doing some gardening…

Before...
Before…
After. And I only got a tiny bit wet!
After. And I only got a tiny bit wet!

Come again soon – I am determined to find my gardening groove tomorrow as there is loads I could be doing.

    1. Hi There. The latest headline in the national newspaper says: Winter blast: ‘Storm still to come’
Having said that the bottom of the country has had snow and some flights have been cancelled. So I guess we just have to wait and see what we end up with up here in the north.

  1. I can’t wait for the snow! Bring it on Antarctica…I have my hot water bottle, my winter woolies, Brunhilda AND 2 nice warm dogs to keep me warm…might even use my new knees to try skiing down our steep slope. Never let it be said that narf7 doesn’t try to see the positive in everything 😉

    1. Hi Fran. Do you get snow in Tasmania? While it is coldish here, it’s not really cold on a global scale. We got snow once, but I’ve seen more impressive hail. It might be good to take the kids to the mountain so they can see proper snow. I haven’t been skiing since before we had kids!

  2. Hi Sarah, The little patch of gardening looks lovely. It is winter and not much can be achieved in the garden. I am waiting for the winds, rain and possible snow to come. It is very still outside. As it can get very windy I checked to make sure all is secure outside and emptied the worm farm juice so it wont over flow in near darkness. Tomorrow is the longest day and then on the daylight will start to get longer then it will be spring and all us happy gardners will be busy.

    1. Hi Tracy. You are too kind with your comments about my wee flower garden – all I did was remove an old dead cosmos plant and a rouge dandylion.
I hope you weren’t too affected by the winds last night, it was pretty scary.
      Cheers Sarah : o )
