I’m dreadfully sorry but…

I’ve done nothing whatsoever gardening related at all in the last wee while and so I have absolutely nothing of interest to share.  I thought I’d be able to drag up something vaguely horticultural and I racked my brains and came up with nothing.  So you will just have to put up with this picture of an unknown tree with pink flowers full of bees.

I don't know what kind of tree this is, but there were so many bees in it, it was actually humming.

Come again soon – I must garden, I need to garden, I will garden!

  1. That’s a beautiful tree there. It looks like a flowering cherry of sorts… The wood looks like cherry wood, and the flowering buds breaking into multiple flowers is typical of cherry. Though I’m not sure about the pink coloring though…

    1. Hi Justin. I thought it might have been some kind of cherry, when I saw it, and quite a few more just like it while out on a walk when we were away in the Bay of Plenty. The trees were so alive with bees, I initially thought there was a swarm. I guess this bodes well for our bee population. Having said that – there are a lot of fruit orchards in the Bay of Plenty so maybe there are more commercial beehives? Either way it is good to see so many bees.

    1. Hi Lucinda. I think sometimes my breaks from the garden are inflicted upon me, with bad weather or other engagements that real life throws at you.
It’s all probably for the best, otherwise I’d grow roots and be stuck out in the garden.
