I think there has been a misunderstanding: I wanted pickles not prickles!

The kids have finally gone back to school and the weather has naturally turned to being the ideal summer weather.Β  It happens every year.Β  Iffy weather prevents the kids getting into really enjoying the summer holidays and then they go back to school and it is perfect!Β  But to be fair we did have some nice days in January.Β  And so far in February we … Continue reading I think there has been a misunderstanding: I wanted pickles not prickles!

I’m too tired for words…

I have slaved away in the garden and have evicted all weeds, mowed all the grass, and harvest so much fabulous food that I can barely lift my fingers to type. Β Luckily a picture is worth a thousand words so this should technically be my longest post EVER! Come again soon… Β so much has happened and I have so much to tell you – I … Continue reading I’m too tired for words…

Someone stuck a festive period in the middle of my growing season.

I spend all winter dreaming of my perfect garden.Β  I put things in place to improve on last year.Β  Mistakes were learnt from.Β  I carefully selected seeds and dug sodden, cold dirt and carefully removed all trace of weed so this one would be the best season ever.Β  The plants are planted with care and start to really get going and there is a hint … Continue reading Someone stuck a festive period in the middle of my growing season.

Not that I was able to do anything about it, if I wanted to, as outer-garden commitments are demanding attention and must have their needs met.Β  That and I’m getting a bit knackered. … Continue reading We need to interrupt this gardening saga for real life to take over.

Are you sure it’s summer?

I woke up this morning to rain. And it felt cold with it.Β  It wasn’t really cold, it was 21Β°C, it just felt like it because it was so grey and miserable.Β  Gardening was not possible – well… a determined fanatic would get out there and do something, but today that fanatic was not me.Β  On other occasions it would have been, but not today. … Continue reading Are you sure it’s summer?

Well that was a waste of time.

Encouraged by comments to re-look at the irrigation but with a smaller hose to increase the pressure, I set about investigating the irrigation bits and bobs that are most commonly available as individual pieces at most hardware stores here.Β  I went on to the company website to look at my options and found a really cool application where I could load in my garden dimensions.Β  … Continue reading Well that was a waste of time.
