There isn’t too much rain friendly activity on my to do list.

In the beginning of the day it was only drizzling lightly and I figured it can go one of two ways:Β  it could stop or get worst.Β  I like to think of myself as optimistic so headed out into the garden to weed the flower bed – number 10 on the list if you are following along vicariously.Β  It didn’t stop raining and eventually got … Continue reading There isn’t too much rain friendly activity on my to do list.

Apparently working in the rain is not what you should do….

… According to Hubby the Un-Gardener.Β  There I was doing my thing completely oblivious to what was going on around me.Β  And he comes along and tells me I should stop and go inside because it was pouring with rain.Β  I looked around and thought β€œOh.Β  So it is.” It wasn’t raining when I started.Β  I wanted to tick off number 16 on the list … Continue reading Apparently working in the rain is not what you should do….

Citrus sabotage most fowl!

I have tried really hard to grow a lemon tree or even any kind of citrus for that matter and over the years I have failed miserably.Β  Then recently I thought I’d try again, but I would kill two birds with one stone.Β  However there was a point when killing birds with stones seemed like a good idea.Β  But at the time I thought I’d … Continue reading Citrus sabotage most fowl!

I’ve made a decision.

I’m going to buy the bolts.Β  I have looked into bolt options and learnt a lot about bolts and inter-metal corrosion.Β  If you screw bolts of one metal into something made of another metal then one will corrode a lot quicker, which would be dreadful if everything collapsed around my ears because I cut corners.Β  Besides the bolts have sort of square heads so they … Continue reading I’ve made a decision.

For the want of supplies.

The greenhouse project has ground to a halt, mostly because I have used all the β€˜good’ bolts.Β  The ones left are either stripped or seized and now I have a dilemma.Β  I’m not sure what to do.Β  New bolts are very expensive; however they are cheaper than an entirely new greenhouse.Β  So I have cast aside my greenhouse while I ponder an effective solution. So … Continue reading For the want of supplies.

Gardening can take on many forms.

And for me there was no dirty hands plunged into a weedy soil, and I didn’t even get to pick up a screwdriver to build a greenhouse.Β  There were things from the garden in our dinner as per the rule:Β  β€œsomething from the garden in every meal’ – however it was all from the freezer so I didn’t even need to put my gumboots on … Continue reading Gardening can take on many forms.

Some things just don’t belong on a list.

I have a dreadful problem with procrastination, especially if it is a task I don’t want to do, or I get the idea for something but decide it isn’t important enough to go at the top of the list.Β  Then I end up with a list – or even a sub-list that contains a whole lot of things that would only take a jiffy to … Continue reading Some things just don’t belong on a list.

I have assembled something!

With a burning desire to actually build something I thought the new potting bench would be a quick fix to satisfy that need.Β  There weren’t too many pieces – I could knock it off in no time.Β  And I would have – had it not been cheap for a reason.Β  It was all coming together nicely and efficiently right up until the last piece – … Continue reading I have assembled something!
